Paint Pouring Workshop
Experiment with free-pour acrylics. Examples of different pour techniques. Demonstration & detailed instructions to guide you through our pours: Straight, Funnel, Swipe, Traveling. (Warning: this gets VERY messy! Don’t wear your good clothes.
Provided: One piece of heavy paper to practice on and one square canvas for your finished piece plus one set of pouring paints. We provide tools and gloves and have a few aprons. Optional extra canvas with paint pour sets available: $15/set payable to instructor at class. Class includes adult beverage or soft drink and colorful colorful M&Ms (with and without nuts) to snack on.
Once your pour painting is completed it is important to leave it to dry for at least 24 hours. If your paint film is particularly thick you may even need to wait as long as 72 hours. In this time your pour will move and shift – your painting may look considerably different from when you left it. If you plan to take it home in your car, have a safe way to transport it. Otherwise, leave it at Mosaic and come back Friday evening or Saturday morning to pick it up.
